WSCVYS 'Challenging Diversity' Training Day for VCS
On Wednesday 24 February we are hosting a training day for VCS organisations on the topic of diversity.  This will be facilitated by NCVYS and held at Horsham Youth Centre. Places are limited so please contact WSCVYS as soon as possible for more information or book your place.


West Sussex Children's Trust Workforce Development Core Offer
Multi-Agency Common Induction Programme

 
The West Sussex Children's Trust induction provides a generic introduction into the Children and Young People's Workforce.

WSCVYS and West Sussex Youth Service Stand
 The South of England Show 10-12 June 2010

 
Over 300 young people took part on the Stand last year and the Show was visited by over 80,000 people!

We are looking for groups of young people aged 12-18 years to participate in:

·         Sports and Activities
·         Song, Dance, Music, Drama
·         Arts and Crafts

Participants will get:

·         To perform to an audience
·         Entry to the South of England Show for the day
·         To find out what is available for young people in West Sussex

Please contact Trevor at WSCVYS or Sally at West Sussex Youth Service for further information. 

Permission from head teachers may be required for attendance on 10-11 June - please contact Sally for assistance with this.

Applications must be received by 2 April 2010.

Hurst Youth Centre is looking to run 12 Hip Hop/ Street Dancing workshops for young people (11-18 years) every Wednesday evening starting Wednesday 20th January 2010.

NCVYS is running a fully fundedManagement Development Programme (MDP) tailored to meet the requirements of managers currently delivering or planning to deliver the youth offer through and alongside locality teams.  It is aimed at strategic third sector managers too.  Please promote to workforce development staff in your organisation (if you have any in place) and also to appropriate individuals within your network. 

Deadline for expressions of interest is end of January!

Taking a lead in your community
 
A free programme of leadership training over 11 weekly sessions starting 26 January for people from diverse backgrounds, to provide the skills needed to champion local projects or serve on the management structures of local public, voluntary and community organisations.
 
The course will be accredited at Open College Network levels 2 & 3. It will take you about 15 hours of work outside the course to develop a portfolio to gain accreditation.
