Goodbye old WSCVYS, hello new WSCVYS!

So the historical moment is almost upon us when we say farewell to the charity West Sussex Council of Voluntary Youth Services.  As of 1 April 2011 we miraculously change into the West Sussex Council of Voluntary Youth Services, a charitable company limited by guarantee.  Read more here....


The Children's Trust Board meets on 1 April.  The Anual Report of the Children and Young People's Plan will be presented.  The major theme of the meeting will be Think Family: Early intervention and Family Support.   Do you any of you have access to a group of parents whose representative might be able to come along? Contact Dr Juliet Starbuck for more info.


WSCVYS is the lead partner in the South East Region Progress Project - accredited courses for the voluntary and community sector. The programme is coming to a close but the learning has been useful - for more information about future workforce development in the sector contact Hanna.

The Big Lottery Fund scheme, Improving Futures, is about targeted support to families with children aged five to ten years old. The West Sussex bid is being led by WSCVYS in partnership with statutory sector and VCS partners. If you would like to be involved contact Hanna. We have available a resource pack from the South East Regional Empowerment Partnership (SEREP) - it also contains a really inspirational DVD featuring some of their award winning community projects.  If you would like a pack (we have four but can photocopy) or to borrow the DVD  for up to a week please do let Gail know.


 preVISIBLE is a useful development tool which tests the systems that an organisation has in place via a series of online questions and requests to attach specific pieces of supporting evidence. The preVISIBLE Review is packed with advice and guidance and looks at whether an organisation is fit for purpose and legally compliant.
