Following the development of new guidance the Sussex Child Protection and Safeguarding Procedures have now been re-launched as a web-based resource.   This new resource replaces the 'Red Book' system and the guidance contained within these books is now considered obsolete.   


The WSCVYS 2011 Annual General Meeting  

Wednesday 22 June in the Bradbury Conference Centre, 7 for 7.30pm at Lodge Hill. 

All affiliated member organisations have been emailed an invitation with an invitation letter and a nomination form.  If yours hasn't found its way to you (it may be lurking in your spam or junk) please let Gail know asap.  And thank you to everyone who has already RSVP'd - and all the kind souls who are going to make the AGM brighter with their displays.

Sussex Central YMCA is running the National Citizen Service programme this summer.

Street20 cricket is a twist on the traditional game and aims to overcome the perception of the "elitist" image of cricket.  An entire game lasts just 15 minutes with 20 balls bowled and is 6 players per side.   There is funding to bring the game to you and help to set up competitions and leagues locally: you can have a one off session or receive the support of the Sussex Cricket Board for several sessions. EVENTS 


Charity Family Paintballing organised by Horsham Round Table - Saturday 18 June with evening entertainment on Friday 17June. All proceeds are going to You Can Do It!, a group that runs sport and art sessions for disabled children and young people in the Horsham district.

The Cadia Snodownia 15 Challenge -2 and 3 July supporting ten charities in the Gatwick Diamond Area. The target is for a group of people to summit all 15 peaks over 3,000 feet high in the Snowdonia range, raising in excess of £10,000 pounds. We Cycle Too! is an event aimed at children with disabilities who would like the opportunity to enjoy cycling. For further details, please see attached.


Sparks in the Park Carnival: Horsham Park on Sunday 24 July. Shout it Out is a platform for people with disabilities to tell - visually and verbally- people about their lives. For information email Nick Jenkins 


Horsham Matters Free Family Fun Day - 1- 4pm Saturday 11 June - Dalesdown, Honeybridge Lane, Dial Post, Horsham RH13 8NX. Everyone welcome.  Entry and all activities free.  Includes - toddler zone, circus zone, sports zone with adventure trail, assault course, bouncy castle, bungee run, face painting, crafts.  Refreshments & BBQ - a small charge for food.  Donations welcome in aid of the new Dalesdown Sports Hall.   More information call 01403 710712

FUNDING 


AFFINITY SUTTON COMMUNITY GRANTS

Next round closes 10 June, 5pm

Grants of £300-5,000 are available. It is vitally important that applications demonstrate how the project will target Affinity Sutton residents and that there is support/need for the project in the community.

SkillsActive is working on an application to the Joint Investment Programme which, if successful, will provide 50% of the funding for an Award in Transition to Playwork (from early years), that would need to be matched by employers. Link to further info.
