SHIFTING SANDS: making sense of a changing environment
The annual WSCVYS conference is to be held on Tuesday 1 November at Lodge Hill - download your application form here.
This conference is primarily for the voluntary and community sector. Statutory sector partners are very welcome but a small charge of £25 will be made to cover costs. Please send your application form with invoicing details and we will send you an invoice. |

'We know that we won't be able to provide the level of services that we currently do to for the young people of West Sussex, and hope to continue to work closely with you to make sure we can give the young people of West Sussex what they need.
With so many changes to our service we have gone out to public consultation, which went live on Thursday 1 September. As key partners, please don't miss the opportunity to have your say. Click here to access the consultation.

With 75% of girls and 50% of boys reporting that they have experienced some form of emotional abuse, a TV, cinema, outdoor and online advertising campaign helps teenagers recognise abusive behaviour at an early stage, before it escalates to physical violence.
The adverts point young people to the 'This is abuse' campaign website where they can find information, seek help and chat with their peers. |
Are you involved in Social Media Work? The South Downs National Park is trying to get 500 replies in one week to a new survey for under 21s. Send this link through Facebook, Twitter, or any other electronic means to everyone you know, your own children, your friend's children and ask them to send it on.

The Youth e-Panel is for ages 11-24 and enables young people to have their voices heard even more in West Sussex. The Youth e-Panel will allow young people to be consulted on multiple things, but the key is that in September the consultation on Youth Services and what they wish the future of them to look like will be attached. Just a reminder that you still have time to nominate for the Crawley Youth Awards 2011 - the deadline is Wednesday 14 September. The Awards are an opportunity to celebrate achievements of young people under 25 from the Crawley area. |

Department for Education "Positive for Youth" Discussion paper - the government is working with young people, local government, voluntary organisations, businesses and youth sector experts to produce a cross-government vision and policy statement on young people and services for young people.
The government is asking for comments and views on the issues and questions set out in the paper by 15 September 2011. |

The Prince's Trust is running a FREE Football course with Brighton & Hove Albion at the new Amex Community Stadium for unemployed 16 to 25 year olds. The programme runs from 26-30 September with a Taster Day on Wednesday 21 September. |
