Representation

WSCVYS is the elected lead organisation representing the Voluntary Sector on the Children's Trust and as such works with our members to give voice to the voluntary sector in the various levels of the Children’s Trust from strategic to operational.
WSCVYS has a highly specialised team of Development Leads working across West Sussex. We support a wide range of development work, currently focusing in the following areas:
- Workforce Development
- Inclusion and Disability
- Representation
- Vulnerable children and young people
- Safeguarding
- Basic Policies
We provide support, development, advocacy, advice and representation to the VCS.
The team is experienced in working in the voluntary, statutory and private sectors, specifically in Children and Young Peoples Services, and has up-to-date experience and knowledge of the sector’s needs. Working at operational and strategic levels - locally, regionally and nationally - we bring a unique perspective to the voluntary sector in West Sussex.
WSCVYS is able to offer infrastructure support to projects and organisations working with children and young people and their families in West Sussex. Our contract with West Sussex County Council identifies the current priorities — (Schedule D1), (Schedule E (A1)) and (Schedule E).
